Wait With Me #3: One Moment Please by Amy Daws book review

Ohhhhhh....yesssssss!  I love Amy Daws books and the spice they bring. One Moment Please follows Lynsey Jones, a quirky grad student who’s been writing her thesis in the hospital cafeteria and accidentally provokes the attention of the brooding ER doctor, Josh Richardson. A one-night stand after a bar clash leaves both thinking it was a single mistake—until three months later when Lynsey shows up in Josh’s ER after a disastrous Tinder date and routine bloodwork reveals she’s pregnant. Shocked to learn the surprise baby is his, Josh struggles with a guarded, guilt-shaped heart that keeps him emotionally distant despite growing responsibility. Lynsey, pragmatic and spirited, navigates unexpected motherhood while grappling with the messy fallout of their hookup and Josh’s walls. Between sharp banter, awkward intimacy, family supports (and frictions), and emotional reckonings tied to Josh’s past, the pair hurt, stumble, and gradually build toward honesty and commitment. The story mixes laugh-out-loud scenes, steamy moments, and heavier beats—including illness and grief—that test the couple and deepen their bond before a hopeful resolution.

I loved this book for its blend of screwball meet-cute energy and contemporary romantic tension: the push-pull between a feisty heroine and a grumpy, complicated hero creates combustible chemistry and plenty of snappy dialogue. Fans of “surprise baby” tropes will appreciate the emotional stakes that come from unexpected parenthood—how responsibility forces characters to confront fears and grow. The book balances humor and steam with moments of sincere vulnerability, giving readers both escapist romance and character work that pays off. Be ready for some sexy spanking and a unexpected baby.  I didn't realize this was the 3rd book in the series, but it was easy to just jump right in.  I read it as an ebook and I wish I had the new physical copy with sprayed edges and cute cover.

This book is out July 14, 2026.  Thanks to Harlequin Trade Publishing and NetGalley for a eARC.

Romancing the Dukes #3: Second Chance Prince by Sara Bennett book review

Prince Nikolai of Holtswig arrives in London seeking to stay low while unrest brews at home, but an assassination attempt at a society ball forces him into a risky bargain with the British government: he must present himself as engaged to a proper Englishwoman to secure protection. He asks childhood friend Lady Roberta Ashton to pose as his fiancĂ©e. Roberta, who once harbored a summer crush on Niki, agrees—prompting a season of forced proximity, guarded confessions, and growing attraction. As threats against Nikolai escalate, the pair must navigate social expectations, family ties, and political danger while deciding whether their pretend engagement can become something real. Alongside the central pair, warm secondary threads—Roberta’s spirited sister Antonia, Niki’s aunt Matilda, and other Ashton relations—add domestic humor and depth as loyalties and secrets surface.

I enjoyed this story for its blend of familiar tropes and emotional warmth: a slow-building friends-to-lovers arc, a fake engagement premise that allows intimacy and tension to develop, and the safety-versus-risk stakes that sharpen romantic moments. The novel balances courtly danger with cozy domestic scenes and secondary-characters’ subplots, offering both simmering attraction and lighter, charming family dynamics. Fans who appreciate a quietly heroic, socially guarded hero thawing under a spirited heroine’s influence—and readers who like their romance threaded with gentle suspense rather than nonstop action—will find this a satisfying read.  A definite add to your TBR pile and a continuation of a fun series.
This book is set to be published May 19, 2026 by Forever (Grand Central Publishing).  Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for an ARC.

The Heiress Hunters #1: A Shop Girl's Guide to Wooing a Lord by Shana Galen book review

A Shop Girl’s Guide to Wooing a Lord follows Tamsin Archer, a determined young woman scraping by in poverty in Regency London after her father’s death and her mother’s disabling injury. Forced to provide for her family, Tamsin works in a coffeehouse, endures abuse, and eventually resorts to stealing to try to buy back her younger siblings, who were sold into servitude to a chimney-sweep. While committing a theft at an aristocratic gathering, she is intercepted by Garrett Kildaire, the second son of an Irish earl whose family faces financial insolvency. Garrett, raised with duty and expectation, is torn between the plan to marry an heiress to rescue his family’s estates and his growing compassion and attraction to Tamsin. The two form an uneasy bargain—Garrett will help Tamsin search for her siblings in exchange for her compliance with his demands—but their alliance soon deepens into genuine love. Alongside rescue attempts and social obstacles, the novel does not shy from depicting the harsh realities of urban poverty and child exploitation, while charting Tamsin’s resilience and Garrett’s moral growth.

Historical romance readers will appreciate this book for its fun blend of emotional stakes, social detail, and a family-centered series hook. The novel pairs a strong, resourceful heroine with a conflicted noble hero whose duties and affections collide, creating some steamy romantic tension. The Kildaire family dynamic promises more interconnected stories, and the brothers’ quest to save their estate provides an engaging structural premise. Galen grounds the romance in period issues—class divisions, child labor, and estate finances—so readers who enjoy romances with realistic social context will find the stakes feel meaningful rather than purely ornamental. The writing balances steamy chemistry with great character development: Tamsin’s courage and Garrett’s willingness to change lend emotional payoff to the romance, while the darker scenes of poverty add weight that amplifies the characters’ eventual triumphs. For readers who favor heart, family loyalty, and historically flavored conflicts alongside a satisfying love story, this novel delivers.  I really enjoyed this book and I am looking forward the the next books.

The book is set to be released on June 9, 2026. Thanks to Berkley Publishing and NetGalley for an advance reader copy.

Ministry of Supernatural Affairs #1: Demons and Diplomacy by Megan Frampton book review

A tantalizing pact between an ordinary woman and the silver‑tongued son of the Devil is all that stands between Britain—and all hell breaking loose. In 1851 London, the Great Revelation has forced supernatural species into the open under the rule of a vampiric Queen Victoria and her dhamphir consort, Prince Albert. Cora Hastings, the government’s Species Ombudsman, enforces new laws, negotiates interspecies contracts, and keeps civic order amid djinn, vampires, selkies, and demons now living in polite society. When the Devil himself decides to visit London to see Prince Albert’s Great Exhibition, he brings his dangerously attractive son, Marcellus. Cora must escort the infernal pair through the city and manage their disruptive presence while uncovering a conspiracy timed to the Exhibition’s opening. Faced with threats to the fragile peace and to Britain itself, Cora is forced into an uneasy alliance with Marcellus. As politics, paperwork, and desire collide, she must choose between duty and an unholy partnership that may be the only thing standing between order and catastrophe.

What a great start to a new series!  This series will be perfect for fans of Gail Carriger and the TV show Lucifer. The setting—an alternate Victorian London still adjusting to seismic social change—offers familiar trappings (tea rituals, public exhibitions, deference to rank) reframed by supernatural politics, creating a richly textured backdrop for courtship. Some people want to go back to the old ways and Cora knows it's her job to prevent any violent plotting. Cora is a pragmatic, competent heroine whose devotion to duty and dry wit ground the story, while Marcellus provides the brooding, devoted counterpart whose demonstrations of care evolve into genuine intimacy. The romance unfolds amid witty worldbuilding and gentle satire—bureaucracy meets infernal absurdity—so readers who appreciate slow-burning attraction, period manners, and clever reimagining of historical figures will find both charm and heat here. I love that Cora lives in a boarding house with a fairy and a succubus! I had to laugh when the author detailed the super hot son of the devil...who loves to cook. The book balances cozy domestic details and grand-scale stakes, delivering emotional payoff alongside the escapist pleasures of Victorian romance with a fantastical twist.

This book is set to be published August 25, 2026. Thanks to Berkley Publishing Group and NetGalley for an ARC of this book.

Miss Wick and the Duke Dilemma by Violet Marsh book review

Eoin Aucourte, newly titled Duke of Foxglen, seeks to find the mother and sister who were taken from him in childhood after his grandfather’s death. His only lead is the Black Sheep Coffeehouse in Covent Garden, run by Hannah Wick—the sharp-witted daughter of a man exiled decades earlier by the Aucourte family and later driven to piracy. Hannah agrees to help Eoin, but not from kindness: she plans to use the search to gather evidence to ruin the family that stole her family’s land. To get close, she pretends to be Eoin’s mistress and uses the coffeehouse’s gossip network, her own daring, and a cast of loyal cousins and friends (and a loud parrot and protective gosling) to pry secrets from the duke’s scheming relatives. As clues mount, the pair face threats to their safety, betrayals within the household, and a tangled mystery surrounding Eoin’s missing kin. Hannah’s revenge plot falters as Eoin’s quiet kindness and integrity expose her growing feelings, forcing both to reckon with whether justice or vengeance is deserved.

I've really been enjoying this series! Historical romance readers will appreciate this book for its lively fusion of period atmosphere, enemies-to-lovers tension, and a mystery that propels the plot beyond mere courtship. The setting—mid-18th-century London focused around an unconventional coffeehouse—gives access to multiple social tiers, creating rich class conflict and fun scenes in seedy taverns, drawing rooms, and shadowy backstreets. Hannah’s fiery, modern-feeling independence and Eoin’s restrained decency create a satisfying opposites-attract dynamic: her sharp scheming and his moral steadiness play well against the emotional stakes of family betrayal and redemption. Fans of regency-adjacent romcoms will enjoy the witty banter, staged “mistress” ruse, and gradual conversion of physical attraction into mutual respect. The added mystery, occasional peril, and quirky animal companions keep pacing brisk and inject variety for readers who like their historical love stories with suspense, humor, and a clear emotional payoff.

The Last Lady B by Eloisa James book review

Lady Genevieve “Evie” Hughes marries the wealthy, septuagenarian Lord Burnsby to secure a dowry for her sister. She accompanies him, her pet piglet, and an eccentric retinue to his remote, snowbound abbey in the Scottish Highlands. The household is populated by quirky relatives, a fashionable French countess, a forgetful aunt, a snarky stepdaughter, and Sir Godric Everly, an attractive, sardonic solicitor and longtime friend of the family. Strange occurrences—ghostly sightings, secret passageways, multiple wills, and a mounting murder mystery—soon unsettle the abbey. As Lord Burnsby’s hidden past collides with the present, Evie must untangle lies about identity, honor, and inheritance while navigating her uneasy marriage and growing emotional bond with Godric. When Burnsby dies under dramatic circumstances, Evie confronts questions about reputation, trust, and where her heart belongs amid revelations that threaten to ruin her.

This was definitely a unique twist on an arranged marriage, especially when all the secrets were being discovered.  I thought it was kind of sad that Evie had to do something this drastic for her family.  But I guess it was a period reality and it was pretty interesting to explore. Romance readers will enjoy this novel for its blend of Regency wit and gothic atmosphere: Eloisa James layers cozy domestic humor and sharp, first-person narration with suspenseful mysteries and moody settings. The slow-burn attraction between Evie and Godric is emotionally charged without explicit infidelity, leaning on longing, dialogue, and moral tension rather than overt eroticism. Fans of found-family dynamics will appreciate the colorful supporting cast, gothic enthusiasts will relish the haunted-abbey tropes updated with modern sensibilities. The story also probes period realities—women’s legal vulnerability, dowry economics, and social reputation—giving the romance stakes beyond passion and ensuring a satisfying mix of charm, intrigue, and heartfelt growth.  I always look forward to Eloisa James' book releases and this one does not disappoint.

This book will be out May 12, 2026.  Thank to Gallery Books and NetGalley for an ARC.

The Wild Wynchesters #6: A Waltz on the Wild Side by Erica Ridley book review

Miss Vivian Henry, a anonymous advice columnist and playwright who escaped slavery as a child, reluctantly turns to the notorious Wild Wynchesters when her beloved cousin Quentin—who idolizes the Wynchesters and imitates their daring escapades—disappears. Vivian, fiercely protective of Quentin because he lacks the Wynchesters’ money and legal protections, swallows her pride and asks the family she despises for help. Jacob Wynchester, a gentle poet who secretly writes under a pseudonym and cares more for animals than people, is assigned lead investigator. As Jacob and Vivian clash—her sharp judgmentalism against his earnest kindness—their partnership reveals hidden strengths, family loyalty, and unexpected tenderness. Together with the eccentric Winchester clan and a menagerie of animal companions, they untangle clues, confront social inequalities that shape Vivian’s life, and race to rescue Quentin. Miscommunications and personal histories complicate the romance, but both protagonists grow: Vivian softens her mistrust, and Jacob opens his heart. The mystery resolves with a satisfying rescue and a romantic, hopeful epilogue that reunites the Wynchesters and closes Jacob’s arc.

Romance readers will enjoy this book for its spirited enemies-to-lovers tension, period detail, and fresh diversity within a regency-flavored setting. The novel balances a puzzle-driven plot with domestic warmth: eccentric family dynamics, witty banter, and clever investigative set pieces provide lively pacing, while scenes of Jacob’s animal companions and the Wynchesters’ inventive vigilante methods add lots of fun! The book foregrounds social issues—race, class, and the limits placed on Black creatives in the era—giving emotional depth beyond the central romance. Readers who value character growth will appreciate Vivian’s gradual vulnerability and Jacob’s steady devotion, even if the romantic arc leans toward a slow burn. Overall, it's a great series read with a unique twist on their found family.

The Parasol Academy #2: The Governess's Guide to Spells and Managing Misfit Marquesses by Amy Rose Bennett book review

In book 2 of the Parasol Academy series, Hermina Davenport, a graduate of the Parasol Academy for Exceptional Nannies and Governesses, embarks on a daring mission to rescue an orphaned young viscount from his nefarious guardian. Her attempt to whisk him away using magic goes awry, landing them on the ship of Phineas O’Connell, a newly-titled Irish marquess. As Mina navigates her new life of secrets, she she agrees to help Phineas, who is grappling with societal expectations and a speech impediment, transform into a refined gentleman. Their journey is filled with magical mishaps, a talking pug, and the looming threat of supernatural foes. Mina's nondescript umbrella becomes a powerful tool as she and Phineas face earthly and magical challenges together.

I loved this blend of magical historical realism. The story offers a fresh twist on the governess trope, with Mina's magical abilities adding a whimsical layer to her role. Phineas, a flawed yet endearing hero, provides a steamy romantic interest. The novel's exploration of societal norms and personal growth, combined with a slow-burn romance, will appeal to fans of character-driven narratives. The infusion of fae magic and witty dialogue creates an engaging atmosphere that balances romance with humor and intrigue. This book's unique elements make it a delightful read for those who enjoy historical romance with a fantastical twist.  It can be read as a stand alone, but readers of the first book will recognize the some of the same characters.  I think the whimsical cover art fits the book perfectly.  It's definitely cozy and fun.  Makes for a perfect weekend read.

Thanks for Kensington Publishing and NetGalley for an ARC.  This book is set to be published March 31, 2026.

Tenibrian Affairs #1: Err Apparent by H. Kamenar book review

"Err Apparent" is the first book in the Tenibrian Affairs series.  Readers will meet established couple, Gabriel and Miles. The action starts as Gabriel escapes his abusive past by killing his tormentor, only to inherit a cursed manor and noble title he never desired. The story unfolds in Averdon, where Gabriel's inheritance legally prevents him from marrying Miles, the mage who saved him and the love of his life. As Gabriel and Miles confront the corrupt aristocracy, they must navigate the challenges of a sentient, haunted house that holds onto its new master. Together, they embark on a journey back to the city that broke them, wielding magic and wit to dismantle their adversaries. Their love and resilience are tested as they battle both external foes and internal demons, seeking to destroy or reshape the power left behind by Gabriel's abuser.

I am so glad I read this book! I'm looking forward to the next book in the series! Romance enthusiasts will appreciate "Err Apparent" for its rich, gothic atmosphere and the intricate interplay of romance and fantasy. The novel offers a unique blend of historical elements and magical realism, creating a world where societal constraints and supernatural challenges intersect. Readers who enjoy character-driven narratives will find Gabriel and Miles' established relationship refreshing, as it explores themes of trust, healing, and resilience. The book's immersive world-building, combined with its nuanced portrayal of trauma and recovery, provides depth and emotional resonance. Moreover, the story's focus on overcoming societal barriers and embracing one's identity resonates with the transformative journeys often found in a Happy For Now story.  I love the idea of a sentient house and I'm torn between Velma or Genna Paystone being my favorite secondary character.  The author has a unique twist on the idea of what vampires are and how they become vampires.  Oh, and it also really stood out to me how Gabriel chose his name as he was doing all the paperwork. I think the world building is just beginning and I am excited to read more!  A great debut novel!

Never Spar with a Viscount by Lindsay Lovise book review

Ivy Bennett, seeking to escape her father's marriage plans, becomes a governess to Lord Owen Brackley's eight lively sisters. By day, she teaches them traditional lessons and self-defense; by night, she runs a secret self-defense class for women. Ivy's life takes an unexpected turn when she's approached by The Dove, a spymaster, to investigate Owen's connection to a mysterious outbreak of hysteria among women. Agreeing to fake a courtship with Owen to maintain her cover, Ivy finds herself drawn to the enigmatic viscount. As she juggles her secret mission and growing attraction to Owen, the lines between reality and deception blur. Together, they unravel a conspiracy while discovering the true meaning of partnership and love.

This is the third book in the Secret Society of Governess Spies series. "Never Spar with a Viscount" offers a fun blend of romance, intrigue, and empowerment. I loved Ivy's strong, independent character who defies societal norms by teaching self-defense and challenging expectations. She becomes a governess to avoid marriage because he father treats her like chattel. The dynamic between Ivy and Owen, filled with witty banter and chemistry, keeps readers engaged. The inclusion of a mysterious plot and charming side characters, like Owen's sisters, adds depth and warmth to the story. I have been loving this series.  The stand out trait in Ivy is that she is a good fighter and is determined to teach other women so they can protect themselves from men with bad intentions.
I absolutely adored this book! Ivy's strength and Owen's charm make for an irresistible pairing. I couldn't put it down! ❤️đź“–

Nearly a Bride by Sabrina Jeffries book review

In "Nearly a Bride" by Sabrina Jeffries, the Earl of Heathbrook, recently released from captivity in France, returns to London. He seeks guardianship of his younger brothers but faces obstacles due to his reputation. To aid his cause, Heath enlists Giselle Bernard, who fled France with her mother using forged papers, to pose as his fiancĂ©e. As they navigate threats related to Giselle's past and uncover secrets about Heath's youth, their fake engagement blossoms into genuine affection. The novel explores themes of love, redemption, and family, set against the backdrop of post-Napoleonic England.

I love the way Sabrina Jeffries engages her readers in a blend of romance and history. She's been one of my favorite historical romance authors for a while now. This is the second book in the Lords of Hazard series. The novel delves into the unique historical context of English detainees in Verdun, offering a fresh perspective on the period. The chemistry between Giselle and Heath is both believable and heartwarming, enriched by witty banter and emotional depth. Fans of slow-burn relationships and character development will find the journey of these two protagonists captivating. The inclusion of historical details adds authenticity, making it a must-read for historical romance fans.  I love the series.  I love the characters. And the best part? The delightful twists and turns that will keep you hooked until the very last page! 📚💖✨

Grin and Beard It by Penny Reid book review

Sienna Diaz, a beloved plus-sized Latina comedic actress and Oscar-winning movie writer, heads to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park to film her latest project. Known for her humor and charm, Sienna struggles with navigation to the house she is staying at,  leading to her encounter with Jethro Winston, a rugged and reformed park ranger. Jethro, once entangled in a troubled past, has rebuilt his life and reputation. Their unexpected chemistry and Jethro's southern manners leave Sienna thinking about him. Despite their differences, as a Hollywood star and a small-town ranger, their bond strengthens through shared experiences and mutual respect. The story explores themes of love, identity, and redemption, as Sienna and Jethro navigate personal and professional challenges, ultimately discovering their steamy connection and inability to stay apart from each other.

I enjoyed "Grin and Beard It" for its fun mix of humor, charm, and heartfelt moments. The novel offers a refreshing take on love with its plus-sized, confident heroine and a hero who defies stereotypes. Set against the picturesque backdrop of Tennessee, the story beautifully captures the essence of opposites attracting. Readers will appreciate the witty banter, emotional depth, and relatable characters who face real-life challenges. I am a little bummed that I did not have the fancy paperback copy with all the illustrations and sprayed edges.  I loved the secondary characters, most especially Cletus, Jethro's brother.  He really had a lot of funny moments.  I enjoyed the little glimpse into the dark side of Hollywood glamourous and the toll it could take on famous people and the games they have to play to stay relevant.  It was a bit of a slow burn at the beginning, but their sizzling chemistry and playful interactions make for a hot romance. 🔥💫 If you are looking for a new series, this one might be a great fit for you.

Hot for Preacher by Anne Marsh book review

Get ready for a sizzling romance where opposites attract in the heart of small-town Tennessee! Country singer Dixie Pearl finds herself stranded in rural Tennessee when her van breaks down, hitting what feels like rock bottom. She's fiercely independent, yet her recent health struggles have made her dream of fame seem unreachable. Fortunately, local minister Jack Carter comes to her rescue. Used to the chaos of dive bars and late-night brawls, Dixie is surprised by Jack's kindness and charm. Despite their differences, sparks fly between the sharp-tongued Dixie and the calm, devoted Jack. As Dixie contemplates her future, she must navigate the tension between her dreams and the growing attachment to Jack. This story explores themes of independence, love, and finding one's place in the world.

WooooooWeeeeeee...this was a sexy book.  Love the open door spice scenes.  I think some reviews are commenting on the taboo idea of having sex with a priest, but the author is clear that he is a minister at a seemingly nondenominational church, so marriage and relationships are on the table. I think Jack and Dixie live in different worlds, but it makes for a good opposites attract story. The book offers a delightful blend of humor, heart, and heat. Jack and Dixie's chemistry unfolds through witty banter and tender moments. The small-town setting provides a charming backdrop filled with quirky characters and a sense of community. The book tackles real-life challenges, including health struggles and personal dreams, adding depth to the romance. Dixie and Jack's chemistry is undeniable, blending humor, love, and a touch of faith. This story is a spicy and heartfelt journey you won't want to miss! ❤️🔥🙏  The book was just released two days ago and I highly recommend it.

Read Between the Lines by Emily Kerr book review

"Read Between the Lines" by Emily Kerr is a cute and cozy romance set in the charming city of Oxford. Librarian Kat Fisher finds herself entangled in a potential catfishing scam on a dating app. Enter Leo Taylor, a former police officer with a grumpy demeanor, who reluctantly agrees to help her uncover the truth. As they delve into the mystery, Kat and Leo's relationship evolves from initial annoyance to unexpected affection. The story is enriched by the picturesque Oxford setting, cozy libraries, and engaging side characters. While the mystery of the scammer keeps readers intrigued, the development of Kat and Leo’s relationship provides warmth and humor. The novel blends romance with a light mystery, creating a charming narrative that balances laugh-out-loud moments with tender, emotional beats.

I really loved that the story was set in a public library in Oxford.  This is definitely a slow-burn romance because it begins with the dating scam and Kat is a bit put off by that. This is the first book of Emily Kerr's that I have read, but I am excited to discover that she has many more books!  If you're craving a cozy romance with a dash of mystery, "Read Between the Lines" is your perfect match! 📚💖 Dive into the charming world of Oxford and enjoy the sexy journey of Kat and Leo. 🌟

The forced proximity on a desert island creates intense chemistry and tension between Sydney and Hunter, appealing to those who enjoy opposites-attract stories. The treasure hunt adds an exciting layer of mystery and action....because who doesn't want to find an old pile of gold?  I love that Sydney is the one who is a genius with code-cracking. Dom-Com by Adriana Anders book review

In "Dom-Com," Rae Jensen steps into a club seeking an escape from her responsibilities, only to find Grant Bowman, a brooding Dom known as "The General." Their one-night encounter turns complicated when they discover they'll be working together. As they navigate their workplace dynamic, Rae, a people-pleasing sub, learns to assert herself, while Grant, resistant to commitment, finds his rules challenged. The story unfolds with humor, spice, and unexpected romance, exploring the balance between personal desires and professional boundaries. Set against a backdrop of kink and workplace intrigue, this novel brings a fresh take on the dominant-submissive relationship.

I really enjoyed this book!  It was a sexy blend of humor, spice, and heartfelt connections. Romance readers will appreciate the dynamic between Rae and Grant, marked by witty banter and undeniable chemistry. The exploration of kink adds a fun twist, while the workplace setting provides a bit of a taboo backdrop for their evolving relationship. With its light-hearted tone and relatable characters, this book is perfect for those seeking an entertaining and steamy escape. It's definitely a fun-spice book.  There is a sex club involved, but I would consider it a "starter" kink book.  Some of the reviews are critical of Rae being a pushover, but that is kind of the point.  She learns to set boundaries over the course of the story.  There is a bit of a mystery woven throughout the book that sets the stage for Grant being there.  He also has some issues to work on and his grumpiness is entertaining.  Overall, this is a great book when you need a steamy escape.  It was hard to put down, so plan on reading it in one sitting.

This book will be out January 27, 2026.  Thanks to NetGalley and Forever Publishing for an ARC.

Mountain Men Matchmaker #3: Honeymoon Phase by Amy Daws book review

In book 3 of this series, "Honeymoon Phase", Addison "Roe" Monroe faces a unique dilemma: to inherit her father's lumberyard, she must be married. Her best friend Luke Fletcher, who has secretly loved her for years, steps up to offer a marriage of convenience. Roe, initially resistant, begins to see Luke in a new light as they navigate their situationship on Fletcher Mountain. The story unfolds with humor and heart, exploring themes of friendship, love, and the complexities of relationships. As Luke competes in a lumberjack competition to win Roe's attention, their bond deepens, leading Roe to realize her true feelings for him. The book captures the charm of small-town life and the warmth of family, making it an engaging read for romance fans.

Romance readers will appreciate "Honeymoon Phase" for its themes of love and friendship intertwined with a familiar setting and characters (if you read the previous two books). Luke's entry into the lumberjack competition adds a unique twist to this third book in the series. Roe definitely comes off a bit prickly and angry at things.  She's mad at her dad for putting in the marriage clause for getting the family business.  She's been hurt by love before and her focus is her business.  But we NEED the tension and drama.  It makes for a fun story as she begins to examine her feelings towards Luke and living on the mountain with a crazy cast of characters/family.  The spice is strong once they get into it ;)  I love how the author is making each couple unique with their story in this series.  It makes for unexpected surprises and fun plot twists.
