One of my personal goals is to go to the RT Book Booklovers Convention. It is not something that I can expense as a "work conference" so I would have to pay my own way. But I really want to go. I'm going to try to make it happen within the next couple years!
Every once in a while I will enter a RT Book Review contest for books that a publisher is giving away. I saw a Harlequin Blaze imprint and it was a new one for me. So, I entered and then a few months later the book arrived. Man! Was I glad I took a chance. I read Tiffany Reisz's Men At Work: Her Halloween Treat. I love the character development in this book, the dialogue is real and flows well through the text. The setting of the Pacific Northwest was new to me, so I enjoyed it. Of course, I am expecting a hot man and Reisz delivered with the details of her character named Chris Steffensen. The chemistry between Chris and Joey pulls the reader in, the twists of their individual stories and how they got together are interesting. Harlequin labels it as one of their "Passion" books and I will have to agree with the category. The sex scenes are explicit and steamy. I'm sure readers who pick this book up will be expecting this. In an age where diversity is needed in books, I love that the author put in a gay couple, who are about to get married. It was well done and just a part of every day life (as it should be). Oh, and the character of Kira made me laugh out loud. Everyone needs a girlfriend like her.
I also love the cover! It is hard not to judge a book by its cover, but the cover designer did a great job with this one. Yummy!

Overall, I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. Recommended for a fun, quick read.
